Content Policy
Hurrbee is built as a family-friendly platform. We believe search should be a tool people can use openly —
at home, at work, alongside their kids — without accidentally surfacing content that doesn't belong there.
To keep that promise, we filter certain categories of content from search results and refuse to relay
certain queries at all.
What we don't return results for
- Explicit sexual content — pornography or graphic sexual material. Art, anatomy and education are not covered by this: a museum catalogue or a medical diagram is not pornography.
- Illegal drugs — buying, selling, or promoting recreational or controlled substances
- Gambling — sports betting, online casinos, or gambling services
How the filter works
We use two layers of content filtering:
- Query filtering — before we make any API call, we check the query against our list of
blocked terms. If your search matches, we don't relay the request and you see this policy page instead.
- Result filtering — we use our search provider's strict safe-search mode, and we also
maintain a list of banned domains that never appear in results.
Reporting an issue
If you believe a legitimate search was blocked in error, or if a result you saw shouldn't have appeared,
contact us through the channels listed in our
Privacy.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy as we tune the filter or expand into new content categories (news, images, videos,
etc.). Continued use of Hurrbee after changes constitutes acceptance.
